AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE

This incident happened in my life when I was around 12 years old. At that time, I was travelling from Salem to Bangalore by train along with my mom, my siblings and my cousins.

We boarded the train at around 1.30 pm. Since we didn’t have our lunch, my uncle who came to send off us, wanted to arrange for it. There came a train vendor who gave lunch coupons to the passengers stating that the lunch would be delivered within half an hour from the time buying the coupon. My uncle also paid like other passengers and bought the lunch coupons for us.

I tried to stop it by telling my mom that the vendor would cheat us because I had read a similar incident in the magazine. In those days, I would read a famous monthly magazine, which contained many articles and shared experiences. I had read a similar incident in the magazine. So I had to alert my mom and my uncle.

I couldn’t stop them as the train vendor was in Railway uniform. Finally it just happened as I had predicted. He was a fake vendor. He didn’t turn up.
